I am SO into this series. Like I never thought something could be more addictive than Battlestar Glactica...but well...yeah. Attack on Titan is amazeballs.

hell's about to go down o3o
She became lost in the madness.
It’s understandable to some extent, because I have a theory about what’s going on.
There are three factions that I can see:
1. Shifters Village | Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie
2. The Survey Squad | Erwin, Levi, Eren, Mikasa, ect.
3. The Reiss Family | Lod Reiss, Anti-human Squad, and Grisha (Formally?)
Grisha appears to have been the one who gave Eren his power to control Titans as well as the ability to become on himself.
However, it was implied by Bertholdt that Eren used to be a Titan in the same fashion as Ymir, but doesn’t remember.
Both Eren and the Ape Titan demonstrated the power to ‘Coordinate’ Titans, but neither Annie, Reiner, or Bertholdt could do this.
It is heavily implied that they were searching for someone with their power (So they could obtain it?)
If Grisha was working for the Reiss family, then they would’ve had this power as well (The same power as Eren).
Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt couldn’t forcibly demand this power from the Reiss family, because (1.) they don’t know who the Reiss family are
(2.) and they would’ve been outnumbered by the humans that could be turned into Titans.
This explains why they broke through the walls, since it solved both of these problems.
In chapter 50 (Page 35), Ymir, Reiner, and Bertholdt were able to sense Eren giving a command. mangafox.me/manga/shingeki_no_…
By letting the Titans in from the outside, the Reiss family would eventually be forced to use their power. However, even though they can ‘feel’ their power being used, it probably wouldn’t have given them a very accurate idea as to where it was coming from.
It’s much like a game of Cat & Mouse, or Gorilla warfare, where you don’t know who your enemy is.
But as long as the Reiss family doesn’t know who they are, then they can’t order the titans to attack them. A very dangerous game indeed.
Secondly, braking the walls would result in the de-population of humans (Potential Titans) within the walls. Notice the shock on Reiner’s and Bertholdt’s faces when they hear the plan to retake wall Maria (Sacrificing the human populace), effectinvly reducing their battle strength?
There are plenty of Titans outside the wall, but they seem to be somewhat different then the humans living within the walls.
Because they they can move at night, as opposed to those on the outside.
If Grisha really was working with the Reiss family, but then suddenly disappeared, they would’ve suspected him of betrayal and may think his family may of had something to do with it. Especially if he took something without their permission (The ‘Coordinate’ power?).
In episode 25, "The Miners Story", (inkypulpo.tumblr.com/post/6254…)
it is shown that the Ant-human Squad take very few risks, eliminating anyone who knows too much.
If there was a possibility that Grisha gave Eren their power, and/or they knew what he took from them, then they chose to let Eren live,
knowing they’d risk their own ‘breed’ of Titan power being taken by the other Titan shifters.
They probably did this because, like Erwin, they wanted to use Eren as bait.
The population that makes up the shifters village, could have been the by-products of the number of Titan-shifters they needed to produce,
in order to create a ‘breed’ that could crystallize themselves, so that the walls could be built.
The Reiss family then continued to let the Titans consume humans, instead of ordering them not to.
Thus, preventing humans from venturing beyond the walls.
Furthermore, Historia, from the very day she was born, may of had memories of her ancestors (The Reiss Bloodline) contained within her DNA.
If so, then keeping the walls and the origin of Titans a secret would’ve been problematic for the Reiss family.
Even though she herself doesn’t remember, her decedent’s might recall the information that was passed down to them (DNA memory).
Memories Can Be Passed Down Through DNA
Eren instinctively bit his hand when he needed to materialized a Titans body, even though on one told him.
Nice job on the actual art part though!
